The Pulpit Commentary on Psalms 44:4

The Pulpit Commentary · Joseph S. Exell and contributors · Public domain

Thou art my King, O God; literally, thou art he that is my King, O God; i.e. I acknowledge no other king but thee, no other absolute lord and master. Command deliverances for Jacob. Being King, thou hast a right to command.

We pray thee at this present time to command our deliverance.
