He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me. Once mere "the preterite of prophetic certainty.'' David sees his deliverance effected. He beholds the coming battle (; ).

He sees that there are many with him; i.e. "many that contend with him;" but his courage does not fail—he is assured of being "delivered" and re-established in his kingdom "in peace."
