Many times did he deliver them. By Othniel ( 3:9), by Ehud ( 3:15-29), by Shamgar ( 3:31), by Deborah and Barak ( 4:4-24), by Gideon ( 7:19-25), by Jephthah 11:12-33), by Samson ( 15:1-20. (8-20), and finally by David (—).

But they provoked him with their counsel; rather, they were rebellious in their counsel (see the Revised Version). And were brought low for their iniquity; rather, in their iniquity (comp. Le 26:39).
