When the wicked rise, men hide themselves (see ); Septuagint, "In the places of the ungodly the righteous groan." But when they perish, the righteous increase (; , ). The overthrow of the ungodly adds to the prosperity of the righteous, removes an opposing element, and promotes their advancement in influence and numbers.
