The Pulpit Commentary on Ezekiel 41:10

The Pulpit Commentary · Joseph S. Exell and contributors · Public domain

Ewald and Smend, following the LXX; combine verses; 9 and 10 thus: "And that which was left between the side chambers of the house and the cells (along the inner court wall) was twenty cubits round about the house on every side."

Interpreters who reject this combination of the verses explain as a statement of the distance between the outside wall of the side chambers and the cells of the inner court. Between the two lay the wideness of twenty cubits; i.

e. a free space of such breadth on the north, south, and west sides of the house.
