The Lightbulb

God doesn't fill you with the Holy Spirit just to give you warm feelings; He gives you power so you can light up a dark world. Don't keep the power to yourself. Read this to find your true purpose. 👇

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." () Imagine a massive Power Plant outside your city.

It generates millions of volts of electricity. Why was it built? Is it so the power plant can sit there and feel warm? Is it so the electrical wires can vibrate and hum? No. The power exists for one single reason: To turn on the lights in the dark city.

If the power stays trapped inside the plant, it is completely wasted. Many Christians treat the Holy Spirit like a spiritual "buzz." They want God's Power so they can have a great emotional experience, cry during a worship song, and feel good inside the church walls.

But Jesus said the purpose of the Power is to be a Witness . The Holy Spirit is the Electricity. You are the Lightbulb. The World is the Dark Room. If you say you are "filled with the Spirit" but you never tell anyone about Jesus, you are a short-circuited wire.

You have the hum, but you aren't producing any light. God doesn't give you high-voltage power just so you can be comfortable. He gives it to you so you can open your mouth and change the world.

Digging Deeper

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Mission . If you read the book of Acts, every single time the Holy Spirit fell on the church, the people went out . At Pentecost (Acts 2), Peter immediately went outside and preached to the lost crowd.

In Acts 4, the room shook, and they "spoke the word of God boldly." The Spirit always pushes you outward toward the lost. If your spirituality makes you hide from the world, it isn't the Holy Spirit.

Reflect on this: Are you a storage tank for spiritual experiences, or are you a channel for witnessing? If you aren't sharing your faith, you don't really need the power yet. Start witnessing to people, and watch how fast God's power shows up to help you.

👣 Take a Step Action: Flip the Switch. The next time you feel a nervous prompting in your gut to talk to someone about Jesus or offer to pray for them—realize that is the Power. Don't wait for a lightning bolt.

Step out and speak. Let the light turn on.
