Day 3 — Worthy Is the Lamb

The one who holds the scroll holds my story. Worthy is the Lamb.

–10 "Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."

At the heart of heaven's worship is a paradox that the world cannot comprehend: the one who wears the crown is the one who bore the cross. The new song of the redeemed does not celebrate political triumph or military conquest; it celebrates the slaughtered Lamb whose blood purchased people from every corner of the earth.

Worthiness, in the economy of God, is measured not by power seized but by love poured out to the last drop. The breadth of the redemption is breathtaking — every kindred, tongue, people, and nation. No culture is too remote, no language too obscure, no people too forgotten to be beyond the reach of that blood.

What the first Passover lamb accomplished for one nation in Egypt, the Lamb of God accomplishes for the whole human family scattered across the centuries. The cross is not a regional event; it is the hinge on which all of history turns.

And those redeemed are not merely rescued — they are royally appointed. Kings and priests: kings, to reign with authority; priests, to draw near with access. The double dignity conferred by the Lamb's sacrifice restores what was lost in Eden and far surpasses it.

Every redeemed soul is not merely forgiven but elevated — invited into the very purposes of God for his world. Worthiness flows from the Lamb to his people.

Digging Deeper

The sealed scroll represents the counsel and purposes of God for history — plans that seemed locked, unreachable by human hands. Only the Lamb is found worthy to open it. This is why the Christian stands before history with neither despair nor naivety: not because the future is visible but because the One who holds it is known and trusted.

The Lamb has the book. That is enough. 🪞 Reflect on this • How does seeing Christ as the worthy Lamb — rather than merely a moral teacher or religious figure — change the way you worship him? • What does it mean practically to live as a "king and priest" in your daily setting?

• Is there a situation you are facing where you need to remember that the Lamb holds the scroll — that history is not out of control? 👣 Take a Step — Sing the New Song Listen to or sing a worship song centred entirely on the worthiness of Christ — not your needs, not your circumstances, but who he is.

After singing, spend five minutes in silent adoration, letting the truth of his worthiness sink deeper than words. If you journal, write a single sentence: "Christ is worthy of ___" and fill in what you most need to declare today.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, you are worthy — not because of what I have felt or how I have performed, but because of who you are and what you have done. You were slain, and your blood has reached me. You have made me a king and a priest — not by my merit but by your mercy.

Let my life be a continuous new song of praise to you. Amen.
